Precision seeds

Precision seeds are seeds that have undergone special conditioning processes. They are uniform in size, have a high germination capacity and varietal purity, and are sold in units (1M, 100M, 250M). They are based on the standards recommended by the ESA (European Seed Association).

All seeds marketed by Agriseeds Iberica SL are precision seeds and are based on the standards recommended by ESA and ISTA (International Seed Testing Association).

Pelleting

This consists of covering the seed with a protective clay-based layer that allows uniformity of size and shape to be achieved, which facilitates machine harvesting. Its size increases, as does its specific weight. Other ingredients such as colour, fertilisers and pesticides can also be added.

Coating

This consists of coating the seed with a thin layer or pigmented film. The shape remains intact, but the edges are more rounded. It frees the seed from dust and allows pesticides or fungicides to be fixed around the seed. In this case, the use of colour is mandatory.

Pre-germination (priming)

Process through which germination is activated in order to obtain a more uniform and rapid emergence after sowing.

Germination: Germination data are subject to ISTA (International Seed Testing Association) rules and tolerances and are valid from the time of delivery.

Varietal purity

This is defined as the percentage of plants in a batch of seeds that correspond to the variety description.
