Intermediate-day onion

Intermediate-day onions have bulbs that form with a day length of between 12-14 hours.

They stand out for having more and better quality skins than short-day onions. The bulbs are round and caramel or copper-coloured.

Some of these varieties allow direct sowing in September because of their tolerance to bolting. In general, they are a good choice for early export, due to the round shape and firmness of the bulbs.
